Performance
The 2023 BMW X5 is outfitted with a 335-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder gas engine featuring an eight-speed auto transmission and adaptive suspension dampers. There is also a V8, turbo 4.4-liter, 523-horsepower system, and a V6, plug-in hybrid system that produces 389 total horsepower. For 2024, both gas engines have been updated with mild-hybrid technology. The updated V6 engine now produces 375 horsepower, and there is no change to the V8 engine's horsepower. The plug-in hybrid engine has also been retooled and offers 483 combined horsepower.
Appearance
You will also notice brilliant improvements to the 2024 X5's façade. In 2023, the X5 displays strong, angled accents through the hood and sides. The LED-topped headlights have curved elements embedded in them, and the front air vents have a bent accent bar. For 2024, the X5 has smooth, linear undulations through the sides and light molding. The front has been completely restyled with two arrow-shaped LED bars in the headlights and a pair of tall gills below them. The lower fascia has a three-sided accent bar for additional differentiation.
Features
Several features will be introduced in the 2024 model year. These include hands-free highway driving assistance, iDrive eight infotainment technology, and a curved central display screen. The BMW X5's other features are offered for both model years. Some of them are leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon audio system, massaging and heated front seats, automated parking, emergency stop assist, a surround-view camera, a four-zone climate control system, rear window shades, embedded lights in the panoramic sunroof, a wireless internet hotspot, a wireless charging pad, remote engine start, an optional third row of seats, a head-up display and many others.
