Serving Chattanooga, TN

The midsize X5 crossover SUV has long taken its place at the top of auto shoppers’ lists thanks to its excellent engineering and luxury balance. The BMW X5's fourth generation was revealed in 2019 with vast improvements, and additional upgrades have been made in subsequent years. In fact, between the 2022 and 2023 model years, BMW introduced a few changes that may help you narrow your search to a specific model year. You can trust our BMW of Chattanooga associates to give you full details about any crossovers that interest you.

Performance

The 2022 BMW X5 has four trim options with three powertrain systems. These trims and powertrains hold steady for the 2023 model year. The first two X5 trims boast all-wheel drive and eight-speed auto transmission. They receive 335 horsepower from a V6, turbocharged 3.0-liter engine. The X5 xDrive45e is a PHEV with two electric motors and a turbo V6 gas engine. The system produces 389 total horsepower and has all-wheel drive. The sport-tuned X5 M50i comes with a V8 turbo 4.4-liter engine that generates 523 horsepower. It also has all-wheel drive, a sport exhaust, and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension.

Appearance

The 2023 X5's façade is identical to the 2022 model year. This crossover has a forward-leaning stance defined by a tapered nose and subtly angled side accents. The rear fender is molded for a sporty touch, and the front fender is dressed with a tall air vent. The nose features a kidney-like grille and powerful air vents with a bent, metallic accent bar. The gorgeous headlights show off circular bulbs with an upper LED light bar. Some X5 trims have 20-inch wheels, a glass roof with LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and auto high beams.

Features

The differences between the 2022 and 2023 X5 are found inside the cabin. For 2023, gesture control has been removed, and a wireless device charging station has been added. For both model years, base-level equipment includes a 12.3-inch display screen, a 10-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, simulated leather material, a blind-spot warning, parking sensors, and more. The X5's higher trims may also come with massaging and heated front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, a surround-view camera, emergency stop assist, automated parking, and other items.
