2020 BMW X3 vs 2019 BMW X3
Serving Chattanooga, TN
Upgrading to a BMW crossover SUV is an exciting event that promises to deliver pure enjoyment behind the wheel for years to come. The X3 is BMW’s two-row, compact crossover SUV that has almost two decades of history on the road. With its dynamic capabilities and gorgeous style, it understandably is the model that has captured your full attention. The 2019 and 2020 versions of the X3 are part of the model’s third generation, so they share the most traits. However, you should be aware of one update to the 2020 X3 before you finalize your purchase plans.
Performance
The most prominent difference between the 2019 and 2020 versions of the X3 is in their capabilities. Both models are offered with the same two gas engines, but the 2020 version adds a plug-in hybrid engine to the mix. The two gas engines they share are a twin-turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, 248-horsepower engine, and a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter, V6 engine that generates 382 horsepower. The 2020 X3’s hybrid engine balances an electric motor with a twin-turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine to produce 288 net horsepower.
Appearance
Visually, there are no significant variations in style between the 2019 and 2020 versions of the X3. This stunning model has a kidney-style, divided grille combined with brilliant definition on all surfaces. The LED headlights have a scalloped look for a piercing impact. The 18-inch wheels have a metallic finish and a Y-spoke design. Additional features on select or trim levels for both model years include remote entry, a panoramic moonroof, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, heated and power-folding side mirrors, and chrome exhaust finishers.
Features
There are subtle differences in equipment from trim to trim, but the X3’s available standard and optional features are unchanged between 2019 and 2020. Some of the included or available features in the X3 are Connected Drive, SensaTec material, wood accents, an 8.8-inch touch display screen, a touch control pad, voice recognition, steering wheel controls, a Hi-Fi sound system, SiriusXM technology, dynamic cruise control, HD radio, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free tech, an auto climate control system, a push-button ignition, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
