Exciting & Efficient Performance

From powering through tough driving conditions to delivering good fuel economy and accelerating down the highway, the 2021 BMW X1 can do it all. It runs on a 2.0L TwinPower turbo 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 258 lb-ft of torque.

This sporty powertrain is designed to get up to speed quickly. It goes from 0 to 60 MPH in only 6.3 seconds. It's also a highly efficient engine with an EPA-estimated 24 city/33 highway MPG.

To manage your drive, you'll have a versatile 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission that includes both Sport and Manual shift modes. For even more control over your drive, xDrive all-wheel drive is also available.

The 2021 Lexus NX also offers all-wheel drive and runs on a 4-cylinder engine. While it also gets up to 258 lb-ft of torque, it doesn't feel as powerful. For example, it takes a full 7.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 MPH.

It also struggles to deliver the same kind of capability and fuel economy. The Lexus only offers a 6-speed automatic transmission and can only get up to an EPA-estimated 22 city/28 highway MPG.

Comfort & Cargo Room

Both SUVs offer premium luxury, with classic features like leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. You'll also find lots of ways to get comfortable with power-adjustable seats. The BMW makes it easier to relax, though, by giving both the driver and passengers a little extra space.

For example, the BMW has enough space for tall riders, with 41.9 inches of headroom up front and 39.4 inches of rear headroom. It also gives your passengers space to stretch their legs, with 37 inches of legroom.

On the other hand, the Lexus is a little more cramped. There's only 37.4 inches of front headroom. Passengers might have to squeeze into the back seats, with only 38 inches of headroom and 36.1 inches of legroom.

Likewise, the BMW also offers extra space for bags. With the trunk, as well as the back seats folded down, it offers enough room for you to pack everything you need.
