BMW i Ventures Teams Up with Bus.com

BMW i Ventures has invested in an emerging startup that plans to do away with the complexity of renting a charter bus and coordinating group transportation in the U.S. and Canada. Bus.com offers instant online bus rental, GPS bus tracking, passenger management tools, and online ticketing.

“Better busing is fundamental to the future of travel.” Kyle, CEO of Bus.com says. “Buses are the best way to mobilize entire communities, including music and sports fans, political rallies, university students. We are enabling and enhancing the bus travel experience.”

The bus transportation market is a $6 billion industry in North America, with the charter space making up for $4 billion of that total. Small operators with fewer than 10 buses operate 82 percent of charter bus companies, and service standards and pricing varies dramatically from company to company. Bus.com plans to unify and empower their businesses, allowing them to enter into new markets and surpass large competitors with an experience their riders actually enjoy.
