What's New for the 2023 BMW M2?
The 2 Series is a sports coupe that has long been a popular option in the BMW lineup. In 2023, the 2 Series will introduce its M version. Known as the M2, it delivers the high-performance capabilities that drivers want in an entry-level model. Compared to the 2 Series, the 2023 BMW M2 has a fortified, stiffer chassis with an upgraded powertrain. Specifically, it pulls 453 horsepower from the same turbo six-cylinder engine in the M4. It also stands apart with its standard six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drivetrain. An automatic eight-speed transmission is optional.
Across the exterior, you will notice that the 2023 BMW M2 has an athletic look that stands apart from other BMW models. Its strongly arched hood pairs with angled rocker panels and squared-off rear haunches. On the nose, the front bumper and air vents have rectangular shapes and are styled in black to stand out. The classic, segmented BMW grille has an innovative look, a thicker central divide, and squared-off angles at the top. The BMW M2's headlights are equally intriguing, with a small bulb sitting between a flat-bottomed, U-shaped LED ribbon.
Inside the 2023 BMW M2, you will find a fully digitalized dashboard with a curved display encompassing the infotainment system's screen and the instrumentation panel. The design includes some of the same geometric elements found on the M2's exterior. These are paired with sport seats in perforated leather. The cabin is outfitted with heated seats, an Intelligent Personal Assistant with expanded voice controls, an iDrive 8 system, auto climate control, and other features. The driver's assistance system includes front and rear parking sensors, a lane departure alert, auto emergency braking, and a forward collision warning. If you opt for the automatic transmission, your M2 will also be available with stop-and-go adaptive cruise control.
