Performance

Both the X5 and X7 are offered with a turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder gas engine. This unit produces 375 horsepower. The X5 comes with with front-wheel or all-wheel drive while the X7 is exclusively available with all-wheel drive. Both models are also available with a sport-tuned 4.4-liter, V8 system. This is a 523-horsepower unit that comes with all-wheel drive in both models. In addition, the X5 has an option for a plug-in hybrid, turbo V6. This 483-horsepower system has a 39-mile range on electric power.

Appearance

The smaller 2026 X5 has a slightly curved roof and a tall, swooping hood. Its kidney-style grille is designed with a thick surround and a chrome finish. A chrome bar also lines the squared-off bumper. The X5's sides are strongly contoured, and they are styled with a chrome accent bar and an air vent near the front fenders. The X7, on the other hand, is a larger model with a flatter roof and a strongly angled hood. Its grille is similar to the X5's grille. The bumper and lower air vents are crisply defined for a geometric look. The sides are dramatically styled with deep contouring.
