The BMW X3 is available in two trim levels for 2026. The X3 30 xDrive is powered by a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This unit produces 255 horsepower. The X3 M50 xDrive features a 393-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine. These engines both pair with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission.

The X5 has three powertrain options across its four trim levels. The first two trim levels are outfitted with a mild-hybrid, turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that offers 375 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid system features a turbo six-cylinder gas engine and two electric motors. It gives you 483 total horsepower and has a 39-mile all-electric range. The top-of-the-line X5 is loaded with a mild-hybrid, turbo 4.4-liter, V8 engine that yields 523 horsepower.

Appearance

The 2026 X3 makes a bold statement with its tall nose, flat hood, and decadently sculpted sides. Across the lower portion of sides, you will find a crisp accent line with a prominent lip. The front end has a squared-off look with L-shaped air inlets and a pair of L-shaped LED light elements in the headlights. The kidney-style grille has well-defined edges and corners.

The 2026 X5, on the other hand, shows off a well-defined, swooping hood and horizontal side definition. The sides are also styled with an angled chrome accent near the front fenders and a horizontal bar lining the lower door panels. The sharp front fascia also is accented with chrome. The grille has BMW’s classic, kidney-style shape with vertical accents. The slender headlights fade into a sporty point.
