There's nothing like zipping around town in a stylish and sporty car. With their agile handling, sleek design, and high-powered engines, both the BMW 2 Series and Audi A3 offer that kind of drive-but which one is right for you?

To help drivers in Chattanooga, Hixson, and Cleveland, TN, decide, BMW of Chattanooga looks at what they have to offer in this BMW 2 Series vs. Audi A3 comparison.

BMW 2 Series vs Audi A3: Performance

The 2021 BMW 2 Series delivers a safe, stable, and fun drive. It offers xDrive all-wheel drive, so you can take tight turns and grip the road, come rain or shine. Under the hood, it offers a choice between two Twin Turbo 2.0L 4-cylinder engines.

The base powertrain features an exciting 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The second configuration offers an even more athletic performance, with 301 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. Both options work with a versatile 8-speed automatic transmission that includes Sport and Manual shift modes, so you'll have more control over your drive.

The Audi A3 also offers all-wheel drive and a couple of 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engines, but they're not quite as powerful. The base engine only gets up to 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, while the other option tops out at 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission manages your drive, but it's not quite as capable as the BMW's 8-speed.

BMW 2 Series vs Audi A3 Interior

Both the BMW 2 Series and Audi A3 feature seating for five and a stylish interior. With leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and refined accents throughout the cabin, each model offers the kind of luxury that never goes out of style.

The 2 Series takes things a step further, though. It gives you more ways and more space to get comfortable. It can also carry more bags and offers a more user-friendly infotainment system. Some of the specs and features you'll find inside include:

  • 38.2 inches of front headroom
  • 15.1 cubic feet of cargo room
  • 10-way power-adjustable front seats
  • 10.25-inch dashboard monitor

The Audi A3 has a slightly smaller cabin. As a result, tall drivers might feel a little cramped, with just 36.5 inches of headroom. There also aren't as many ways to get comfortable with an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat. The decreased dimensions continue into the cargo hold. With only 12.3 cubic feet of storage space, you won't be able to pack as many bags.

The Audi and BMW both offers smartphone-compatible features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, as well as a navigation system. However, the Audi makes it harder to see your maps with its small 7-inch dashboard monitor.

BMW 2 Series vs Audi A3 Style

Each one of these German luxury cars comes with its brand's signature style. The 2021 2 Series proudly sports the Bavarian automaker's iconic kidney grille, while the A3 greets drivers with its unmistakable four rings.

Both vehicles feature a sleek, aerodynamic design, but the BMW gives you more options. The 2 Series is available as a sedan, coupe, and a convertible. On top of offering two additional styles, the 2 Series coupe and convertible live up to their sporty design with a 3.0L V6. This performance-inspired engine can deliver up to 335 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque.

The Audi A3 doesn't offer any other models. It's only available as a sedan and doesn't offer any additional high-powered engines, either.
