The elite BMW X5 stands out among midsize luxury SUVs thanks to its refined cabin and exceptional engineering. In 2026, the X5 will be a mid-generation model identical to the highly desirable 2025 version. This three-row model is available in four trim levels with numerous packages.
The X5 sDrive40i is outfitted with a mild-hybrid, turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine. This system generates 375 horsepower and has an eight-speed auto transmission with front-wheel drive. The xDrive40i has the same engine with all-wheel drive. The xDrive50e is a plug-in hybrid system with a turbo six-cylinder engine. It boasts a 39-mile all-electric range and produces 483 horsepower. The top-of-the-line option is the M60i, which has a sport-tuned, turbocharged 4.4-liter, V8 engine. This 523-horsepower system comes with all-wheel drive.
A tall, swooping hood and a slender, kidney-type grille with a thick surround define the standout styling of the 2026 X5. The bumper has a squared-off design with a linear, chrome element. The LED headlights make a sharp statement as they trend dramatically into a point. Over the sides of the X5, scooped contouring, light molding, and chrome accents complete the look. Depending on the trim that you prefer, your X5 could also be outfitted with run-flat tires, cornering lights, up to 22-inch wheels, an illuminated grille, red or blue caliper,s and other features.
