BMW's popular X3 is a compact crossover SUV that broke into its fourth generation in 2025. With bumper-to-bumper updates introduced only a year ago, the 2026 BMW X3 is unchanged. What can you expect from this high-performance luxury model?
The 2026 BMW X3's impeccable styling is both modern and powerful. While it is a compact crossover SUV, it strongly impacts the road with its muscular sculpting and tall profile. The sides are further accented by a crisp, angled ledge running along the lower perimeter. The standard, kidney-style grille that BMW is recognized for is distinctive, with sharp corners and a basket-weave mesh pattern. A wide, metallic accent distinguishes the lower fascia. A vertical accent spans the height of the triangular air inlets. The headlights make a statement with a pair of bent LED ribbons. Exterior features offered with the X3 include cornering lights, dark accents, a power liftgate, and 19-inch wheels.
Two trim levels are available for the 2026 X3: the 30 xDrive and the M50 xDrive. The first trim level is equipped with a four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter engine. This system puts out 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M50 xDrive has a 393-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. It delivers 428 pound-feet of torque. This trim includes an adaptive suspension and upgraded brakes. Both trim levels are outfitted with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The X3 30 xDrive is smartly equipped with premium features like an automated parking system, front and rear parking sensors, remote services, a blind-spot warning, lane keeping assistance, forward collision mitigation, a wireless charging pad, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a dual-zone auto climate control system, a navigation system, a digital instrument panel, synthetic leather seats, a 14.9-inch infotainment system screen, keyless entry and heated front seats. The more advanced trim level adds an upgraded Harman Kardon sound system with 16 speakers and a panoramic sunroof. Available options are a head-up display, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, a hands-free driving system, and a heated steering wheel.
