BMW South Carolina Plant Becomes Production Rockstar

The BMW Group has been doing business in the U.S. market for decades, and it is celebrating and praising its Spartanburg, SC plant for being the largest production site within the past quarter-century.

The location's expansion and generous additions along with the decision to make the BMW X models in South Carolina have propelled the plant to become the leading manufacturing location in the BMW Group production network in the past 25 years.

Chairman of the Board of Management, Harald Krüger, said at the ceremony honoring the plant that BMW's accomplishments in the U.S. would not have been imaginable without the support of elected officials and the people in South Carolina and the surrounding area.

So far BMW has devoted eight billion dollars to the South Carolina locale and has also produced about 3.9 million BMW models there since the plant opened in 1994.
