FCA to Join BMW Group and Others on Development of Autonomous Driving Program

If you have been following automotive news, then you are probably aware that the industry has recently shifted its focus to fulfilling the vision of autonomous driving. In fact, many automakers are now working on technologies as well as full vehicle prototypes that will transform the way people like you travel on the road. BMW Group is one such company, and according to the latest press release, FIAT-Chrysler plans to assist in their newfound endeavors.

In total, there are five organizations partnered on the project, and the FCA is the newest member. The goal is to leverage each participating organization's strengths and resources to develop a cutting-edge autonomous driving platform to be delivered worldwide. If all goes in accordance to the proposed plans, production will start in 2021.
